bit of technique advice - practice a bit with the blade movements before attempting to actually use it for divination... when I've tried to teach this technique in workshops, the hardest thing is for folks to get the grip right. It's got to be just loose enough that the blade will drop or move "unconsciously"... also, especially if you're using that fine blade you got from Jol, be careful! (you might want to use a thicker cloth... nicked fingers are a definite possibility.

This is a great article.

I wonder if the fetch will only present itself as mentioned, or perhaps in more various forms depending on the contact it wishes (needs) to communicate? For instance in elven form, or a speaking head (somewhat ghastly form), or as more than just one animal...... This question coming from personal experiences.

I have always thought that this connection was indeed that which was achieved while using a ouija board, contrary to others I have known who have suggested that these "messages" come from .... i dunno ... outer space ... or something the like (smile).

I particularly like your methods of initiating contact, and since I have perfect source (a lovely J Arthur Loose knife) will give it a go.

I have spent a fair time studying sub conscious control in the dream state and am still working at making that comfortable connection in the waking realm. Your methods suggested are a welcome practice.
