New RfR Talks

New RfR Talks The incomparable Geoff has reviewed two new Radio free RUNA talks now available at
http://edred.net/community/index.php?t=browse_vault

RFR #70 - ALU (25:45)

The book ALU, a very exciting project hinted at in earlier RFRs, is nearing completion. Edred talks some about its place, scope and methods.

"A decades in the making follow-up to FUTHARK, if I were to write FUTHARK today, how would I write it?...it would be ALU."

To illustrate this book is no re-hash, he reads material on a couple of Runes and promises to return again on future broadcasts. The depth of research and synthesis is stunning. Polarian Method? Damned right, and then some!

Personally I can't wait for this book. It literally goes where no other has.

Listen to this one with your ears on.

RFR #71 - "Texas, Our Texas" (31:49)

This one gets its name from the state song of Texas because of the little story Edred uses as a symbol for a larger sickness. As he discovered, the UT Austin campus apparently no longer hosts a Texas Independence Day celebration because, in the words of one of the faithful, "someone complained".

Political correctness, topic of a great past RFR (#37), is around everywhere. Here's a recent blog by "Steven", on a Daily Texan (student newspaper) blogspot:

"The Declaration of Independence was written by racist George Campbell Childress from Tennessee who was a friend of Andrew 'Indian Killer' Jackson. Anglo-American immigrants were invited into the new Mexican nation but didn't want to obey the laws here and rebelled against their adopted country. The Alamo 'heroes' were really a bunch of mercenaries and adventurers who fought for power and glory. Then the illegal, unjust U.S.-Mexican War was waged as part of the European idea of Manifest Destiny to continue to expand to the West and become larger and more powerful. There is so much of Texas history that some people simply don't want to hear about. It just feels too good to believe we have a glorious and heroic past, why spoil it what the ugly truth."

Edred begs to differ - to say the least - offers some reasons why he feels this way, and some timely ideas about real agendas. Things are rarely as they seem. Hail Edred!

By the way, adjacent to this blog entry was a link to the headline "Majority of Students Believe Humans, Dinosuars Coexisted".

KHPR 008: Sex Magic, the in's and out's http://www.xeper.org/khpr/

A new talk is available at KHPR, the show for the intrepid travelers of the left hand path.

Magister Kauschen writes:

"Rather appropriately, the day after Valentine's Day Magister Mark Luskin and I talk about sex magic and some of the odd things about it as well as some of the good things about it."

"It’s hard for us to stay serious at times, but when it comes down to it, sex in and of itself is a truly magical act. We cover some of the historical inaccuracies, aphrodisiacs and how they don’t work, as well as how you can discover more of yourself by trying a few new things you might not have thought of before."

KHPR 007: Art and Culture in Setian Initiation New talk available at KHPR

http://www.xeper.org/khpr/

Priest James Kirby, an artist within the Temple of Set, creates many Setian inspired works such as the Stele of Set. Priest Kirby uses art as a form of magic to inspire and transform himself and those around him while working with stone, metal and multiple media formats to create sculptures and jewelry artifacts that will live on past him. Priest Kirby also talks about the processes he uses to create his art and some of the techniques he uses to replicate the bas-relief work of the ancient Egyptians.

Learn how you can apply art as a method of self transformation.
