I thought that I could deal with anything, until- not too long ago I was forced to retreat from the World of Horrors. Stunned and dejected, I peered into this consumerism and found what to me is it's heart. This I consumed, much like one would with a bit of hard candy. As I did so I saw a gameboard unfold before my mind's eye. it's almost impossible to attentively watch these three videos in one viewing. tell me how far you get- video 1 2 or 3 and number of minutes, and I'll tell you your score. high scores will be posted here. If you can score 100 points, meaning that you have watced all three videos back to back- attentively- (There may be a test) I will give you a quest that will, if you are successful allow you to move to the next level of Hel and receive another quest! Conquer these particular zones of Hell! Later we will all talk about the results of the tests. This working is firmly grounded in LHP magical tradition as it exists today, and is most timely and relevent.- a news update on the oddly and virulernly beating heart of the World of Horrors~ The World of Horrors is that of consumerism~ "Eater-ism"= The Etin. Consumerism = what I call "Candy-Land". Test your metal against that most obscene heart of the "dragon". It's not easy. Observe: ~and despair or prevail--- |

| multimedia displays in comparison with the powers of the psyche | |

To say that a person is their body is to objectify them and degrade a person, and yet, reductionist materialism leaves nothing else but the body- the mind is a product of the workings of the brain, etc. ad nauseam. I didn’t realize consciously that I even had a psyche until not too long ago, and that doesn’t reflect well upon our society. My desire to learn to use multimedia technology I realized is in part a desire to learn to use my own psyche. Certainly the psyche is capable of much more than a piece of software is capable of. That's what drives foward innovation in the production of software, that our imaginations are really always better. There can be something alchemical that can happen when a person manipulates things on a screen, using a computer. That is, concentrating upon placing effects on a digital video sequence for an hour can make it easier to imagine similar things. Great resources must be mobilized in order to produce a thing physically. I was thinking about the Lord of the Rings films, and books, and it is difficult for me to really enjoy them fully, as they are almost so good, if it weren’t for a few basic archetypal issues. Within the psyche, it is possible to synthesize say, the scene in the film of the city of Lothlorien at night, and the way that "Frodo" perceives things when wearing the ring, and meanings too are synthesized, because one is thinking about these things, and what it means to combine them in a positive way. In the world, there’s no way to get everyone back together who were in the films, have them put the costumes back on, and go back to the sets, etc. If a person just put a video effect on the Lothlorien scene, that doesn't redress the archetypal issues that one has with the film, it doesn't account for the changes that have occurred with the experience, and plus, it's someone else's work that one is just tinkering with. So, then there’s an inspiration and need that drive the production of new works.
