How do I navigate Edred.net community?

The frames, to the right side of the page contain various control functions on Edred.net and can be accessed under the tabs HOME, COMMUNITY, CHARTS, LISTS, PHOTOS, EVENTS, FORUM, ARTICLES located across the top of the frames.

These TABS are the primary means of navigation around the Edred.net community but first you will probably want to:

Free signup! How do I sign up for my free Edred.net account?

Under the frames, to the right side of the page, is a heading called appropriately

FREE SIGNUP! Click the link listeners and fill in the simple form:

  • Choose a USERNAME

  • Choose a PASSWORD

  • Re-enter the PASSWORD

  • Enter your E-MAIL address

  • Re-enter your E-MAIL address

  • Enter the 5 digit validation code from the IMAGE BOX

  • Read the terms and conditions outlined in the ULA by following the link

  • Check the check-box indicating your acceptance

  • Click on CREATE ACCOUNT

That’s it. You are a new member of Edred.net. Welcome!

NOW, How do I navigate Edred.net community?

The frames, to the right side of the page contain various control functions on Edred.net that will be visible and can be accessed under the all of the tabs: HOME, COMMUNITY, CHARTS, LISTS, PHOTOS, EVENTS, FORUM, ARTICLES located across the top of the frames.

These TABS are the primary means of navigation around the Edred.net community

But FIRST, you will want to LOG IN using you your new account.

How do I log in to my account at Edred.net?

The frames, to the right side of the page contain various control functions on Edred.net that will be visible and can be accessed under the all of the tabs: Here you are looking for the

Where you type in the USERNAME and PASSWORD you created when you signed up for your free account. Then click the LOGIN button, successfully logging in takes you to your PERSONAL CONTROL PANEL.

Your PERSONAL CONTROL PANEL is your direct interface to Edred.net and through this interface you can navigate to:

through the links in the right-hand frame.

You can also navigate to your personal:

BLOG, STATIONS, CHANNELS, PHOTOS, YOUR PROFILE, EXTRA

using the TABBED LINKS across the top of your page.

Many will be interested specifically in the links:  Exit this Control Panel and explore edred.net or exit control panel which is fine because you can always return here from the other areas of Edred.net.

How do I create a blog entry?

Either click on the  Add a new Blog Entry link in the  Things to Do section or access the  create entry link my mousing over the BLOG item on the top menu frame of your control panel home page.  This will bring you to the blog editing page where you can add a title, category and the text of your blog.  Clicking the Hide Entry check box will prevent the entry from showing up on your site.  Once you are finished, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the create entry button.

How do I modify a blog entry?

You can access the  modify entry link by mousing over the BLOG item on the top menu frame of your control panel home page.  Clicking this link will bring you to a new page where you can select the blog entry you wish to modify and then click the Modify Entry button.  This will bring you to the blog editing page.  Once you have modified your blog, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the Modify Entry button.

How do I delete a blog entry?

You can access the  delete entry link by mousing over the BLOG item on the top menu frame of your control panel home page.  Clicking this link will bring you to a new page where you can select the blog entry that you wish to modify.  Once you click the Delete Selected button, your blog entry will be deleted permanently.

How do I add an image to a blog entry?

Go to the blog editing page by either creating a new blog entry or modifying an existing one.  If you wish to upload an image from your computer, scroll down and click the Browse button. Select the image file on your computer and click the Open button.  If you wish to select an image you have already uploaded to Edred.net, click the Launch Image Browser button.  This will open a new window with a gallery of your images.  Click the Use Image button for the image you wish to add. Your image will appear in your blog entry once you click the Create Entry or Modify Entry button.

How do I add a photo?

You can access the  add photo link by mousing over the PHOTOS item on the top menu frame of your control panel home page. Clicking this link will bring you to a new page where you can add a title and text to your photo.  To upload the photo from your computer, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Browse button.  Browse to the location of the photo, select the photo and click the Open button.  Finally, click the Add Photo button.

How do I modify a photo?

Access the  browse photos link by mousing over the PHOTOS item on the top menu frame of your control panel home page. Clicking this link will bring you to a new page where you can click the modify button beside the photo you wish to modify.  This will bring you to the photo editing page where you can make changes to the text or photo itself.  Once you have finished making changes, click the Modify Photo button.

How do I delete a photo?

Access the  browse photos link by mousing over the PHOTOS item on the top menu frame of your control panel home page. Clicking this link will bring you to a new page where you can click the delete button beside the photo you wish to delete.  Click OK on the pop up menu will permanently delete the photo.

How do I invite a friend to Edred.net?

Mouse over the EXTRA item on the top menu frame of your control panel home page.  Click on the  Invite a Friend link.  You will be brought to a new page.  Add your friend’s email address and your message to the boxes on this new page and then click the Invite a Friend button.

How do I add or modify info to my profile?

Click the account info link in the right frame of your control panel home page. Add information that you wish to make available to other members of Edred.net and then click the Update Changes button at the bottom of the page.  This is the location for making changes or additions to your real name, email address, biography, location, gender, birthdate, WebSite, IM number, image, and password.

How do I change my email address?

Click the account info link in the right frame of your control panel home page. Change your email address and then click the Update Changes button at the bottom of the page. You can choose to show your email address to other Edred.net members by clicking the Show Email Address checkbox.

How do I change my password?

Click the account info link in the right frame of your control panel home page. Type your old password and your new password in both boxes provided and then click the Update Changes button at the bottom of the page.

How do I hide my profile from other Edret.net members?

Click the account info link in the right frame of your control panel home page. Click the Private Profile checkbox and then click the Update Changes button at the bottom of the page.

How do I hide my online status from other Edret.net members?

Click the account info link in the right frame of your control panel home page. Click the Hide Online Status checkbox and then click the Update Changes button at the bottom of the page.

How do I turn off private notes?

Click the account info link in the right frame of your control panel home page. Deselect the Accept Private Notes checkbox and then click the Update Changes button at the bottom of the page.

How do I turn off email notification?

Click the account info link in the right frame of your control panel home page. Deselect the Email Notifaction checkbox and then click the Update Changes button at the bottom of the page.

How do I unsubscribe from the newsletter?

Click the account info link in the right frame of your control panel home page. Deselect the Newsletter Subscription checkbox and then click the Update Changes button at the bottom of the page.

How do I turn off friend sharing?

Click the account info link in the right frame of your control panel home page. Deselect the Share Your Friends checkbox and then click the Update Changes button at the bottom of the page.

How do I delete my profile image?

Click the account info link in the right frame of your control panel home page. Click the Delete Image checkbox and then click the Update Changes button at the bottom of the page.

How do I add or change my profile image?

Click the account info link in the right frame of your control panel home page. If you wish to upload an image from your computer, scroll down and click the Browse button. How do I customize my profile page?

Either click on the  Customize your Profile Page link in the  Things to Do section or access the  customize your profile link my mousing over the YOUR PROFILE item on the top menu frame of your control panel home page.  This will bring you to the profile editing page where you can customize the look of your profile by changing the font colors and page background.  Click the Preview Changes button to view your changes and once you are satisfied, click the Update Changes button.

How do I disable my forum?

Mouse over the YOUR PROFILE item on the top menu frame of your control panel home page and click the  forum admin link. Select the no radio button in the forum active field and click the Update Settings button.

How do I ban a user from my forum?

Mouse over the YOUR PROFILE item on the top menu frame of your control panel home page and click the  forum admin link. Enter the username of the user you wish to ban from posting on your forum in the Banned Users text box. If there are multiple users to be added, be sure to only add one per line. When you are finished, click the click the Update Settings button.

How do I add a new forum category?

Mouse over the YOUR PROFILE item on the top menu frame of your control panel home page and click the  forum admin link. Type the name of the new forum category in the New Forum text box and click the Update Settings button.

How do I re-order my forum categories?

Mouse over the YOUR PROFILE item on the top menu frame of your control panel home page and click the  forum admin link. Clicking the ^# button beside any of the Forum Name fields will switch that category with the one above it.  For example, clicking the ^2 button will exchange the forum in the second position with the forum in the first position.  When you are finished reordering your categories, click the Update Settings button.

How do I delete a forum category?

Mouse over the YOUR PROFILE item on the top menu frame of your control panel home page and click the  forum admin link. Click the delete button beside the forum category that you wish to delete and then click the ok button in the pop up question. When you are finished deleting categories, click the Update Settings button.

How do I add a new topic to my forum?

Click the FORUM item on the top menu frame of your profile home page and click the New Topic button. Once you have added your title and text click the Save button.  You can also check the sticky checkbox if you wish the topic to remain even if you have your forum to set to delete posts after a period of time.  You can also make a topic sticky by clicking on it and then clicking the  button.

How do I delete a topic or thread in my forum?

Click the FORUM item on the top menu frame of your profile home page and click on the topic containing the thread(s) you wish to delete.   Click the  button to the right of these.

How do I lock a topic so that no one can post a reply to it?

Click the FORUM item on the top menu frame of your profile home page and click on the topic you wish to lock. Click the  button to lock the topic.

How do I unlock a topic so that users can post a reply to it?

Click the FORUM item on the top menu frame of your profile home page and click on the topic you wish to unlock. Click the  button to unlock the topic.

Why is the media file that I uploaded not showing up?

Member accounts have a very limited space allotment and Artist accounts have 100 megs.  If you wish to apply for an Artist account or if you have an Artist account and wish to have more memory, complete the contact us form with your request.

How do I add something to my shopping cart?

Click the  cart icon to the right of the item you wish to purchase.

How do I return to my shopping cart after continuing to browse Edred.net?

Click the  cart items link in the Menu Items frame to the right of your screen.

Where can I download my purchases?

Click on the  control panel link in the menu frame to the right of the Edred.net page. You will be taken to your control panel home page where you can click on the my files link in the Menu Items frame to the right of the Edret.net homepage. Click the Download button to download your file. Be sure that you remember where you saved the file on your computer!

Are you going to tell me, How do I navigate Edred.net community?

SO you have logged in to Edred.net, been to your control panel and profile, and then you have clicked on exit control panel , or Exit this Control Panel and explore edred.net and now you are presented with the COMMUNITY Home page. Again the frames, to the right side of the page contain various control functions on Edred.net that will be visible and can be accessed under the all of the tabs: HOME, COMMUNITY, CHARTS, LISTS, PHOTOS, EVENTS, FORUM, ARTICLES located across the top of the frames. Although now it looks just a little bit different and you can see that you are actually logged in. Depending upon the settings you have chosen in your control panel others may also be able to see this as well. GREAT!

These TABS are navigational LINKS and are the primary means of navigation around the Edred.net community.

  • Artists by LOCATION, TOTAL PLAYS, RATINGS, FANS
  • Members by FRIENDS
  • Music by RADIO, GENRE
  • Videos by CHANNELS, GENRE
  • Shop for Merchandise for sale at Edred.net
  • Digital Downloads—–HERE IS WHERE YOU GET “RADIO FREE RUNA” and other digital downloads such as great music, digital documents, and talks / lectures from various artists, Runemaster’s, Fellows, and etc. You really have to explore these valuable items as they are unlike anything found anywhere else.

Clicking the links in the Lists menu will open the corresponding listing in the main action frame below left.

Clicking on the PHOTO’S tab will open links to photographs uploaded to Edred.net by various members. Enjoy!
