Caerphilly Game town center could become the new Burger King

A NEW branch of fast food chain Burger King could be coming to a town center in Gwent.

The Game store in Castle Court shopping center in Caerphilly could close to make way for a new Burger King.

The proposed fast food restaurant will accommodate 18 people and will be open from 08:00 to 00:00 daily.

If plans are approved, 22 jobs will be available across the channel, including six full-time and 16 part-time – more than double the number currently employed at Game.

The RPII signal is indicated as requestor.

Castle Court was previously home to a Burger King, but it closed in 2017 after the company that operated it went into administration.

Cardiff-based planning consultancy Turley submitted the planning application – on behalf of the applicant – to Caerphilly County Borough Council, for a change of use from shop to restaurant and takeaway.

It is unclear whether planning permission will be granted. In its planning conditions, Castle Court Shopping Center limits the number of food and drink spaces.

It currently has a Costa, Greggs, Gatehouse – plus Fablas and Gareth Coffee, which are coming soon.

A decision is expected to be made by the board by August 24.
