Edinburgh’s King’s Theater Sunshine on Leith shows canceled as stars catch Covid

Bosses at the King’s Theater in Edinburgh have announced the cancellation of the remnants of their shows for Sunshine on Leith due to coronavirus.

The Capital Theaters-owned theater took to Twitter earlier today to share the news. They said: “We are absolutely devastated to announce that the remaining Sunshine on Leith shows at the Kings Theater this week are canceled due to Covid-19 affecting key cast members.”

Actor Colin McCredie was quick to respond to the heartbreaking news, responding with “What an ab***** shame.”

Ticket holders expressed their disappointment at the cancellation of the beloved musical, with Lindsey Menzies tweeting that she was “Absolutely gutted. I bought tickets for my other half for her Christmas and we were looking forward to Friday night. I hope everyone affected recovers soon.

The musical adaptation of the blockbuster movie based on the Proclaimers’ greatest hits has been a smash hit since it first aired on June 7.
