DURBAN – The IFP has called on new KZN Prime Minister Nomusa Dube-Ncube to provide continued support to the Zulu King and his family.

Dube-Ncube assumed his new responsibilities, after being sworn in on Wednesday.

His appointment was warmly welcomed by some members of the legislature. The opposition party in the legislature – the IFP – said she had to take advantage of the royal family.

Shortly after Dube-Ncube took office, the official opposition called on her to support King AmaZulu Misuzulu kaZwelithini.

The office of the king which has not yet been officially crowned – is assigned to the office of the prime minister – and this means that she will now have to work with the monarch.

“We call on the new Prime Minister and the new Executive to provide all necessary support to King Misuzulu, as the reigning King – to ensure that the King respects the mandate of the monarchy, for the promotion and advancement of the kingdom Zulu and KZN people,” IFP chairman Velenkosini Hlabisa said.

Hlabisa said the KZN government should always be available to the AmaZulu First Family.
