King of Jordan stresses central regional role of Saudi Arabia led by King Salman

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held talks with King Abdullah II of Jordan at Al Husseiniya Palace in Amman, during which the Jordanian king stressed the central role of Saudi Arabia, led by King Salman bin Abdulaziz, in support of regional causes.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman stressed the Kingdom’s desire to consolidate brotherly relations with Jordan, stressing that the goal is to advance a new phase of cooperation for the benefit of Jordan and Saudi Arabia, and that there are great opportunities that will benefit both countries. .

King Abdullah also awarded the Saudi Crown Prince the Order of al-Hussein bin Ali, which is Jordan’s highest order, embodying the close ties between the two countries.

During the visit, the two leaders will discuss a number of regional and international issues and the strengthening of relations in various fields.

The Crown Prince arrived in Jordan earlier on Tuesday and was met at the airport by King Abdullah. Royal Jordanian Air Force fighter jets accompanied the crown prince’s plane as it entered Jordanian airspace.

The Crown Prince had previously left Egypt, where he met President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi and discussed a host of regional issues, including Iran, Yemen, Iraq, Libya, Sudan, Lebanon, Syria and Palestine.

Prince Mohammed is due to visit Turkey on the next leg of his tour.
