KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah visited the Farnborough Inter-national Airshow 2022 (FIA2022) in Farnborough, UK.
According to a post on the Istana Negara Facebook page, Her Majesty was greeted upon her arrival at 10:30 a.m. (local time) on Tuesday by Farnborough International Chairman Paul Everitt and senior Farnborough International officials.
Also present were Defense Force Chief Jen Tan Sri Affendi Buang, RMAF Chief Jen Tan Sri Mohd Asghar Khan Goriman Khan and Malaysian High Commissioner to the UK Zakri Jaafar.
During the visit, each of the companies and organizations present gave a briefing to Her Majesty.
The King also visited the Malaysia Pavilion, led by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) and joined by 17 Malaysian companies, in addition to three government agencies, namely the National Aerospace Industry Coordination Office, Teraju Bumiputera Corporation and Invest Selangor Berhad.
Her Majesty also met with UK Export Minister Andrew Griffith.
FIA2022 is a week-long, biennial event beginning July 18, combining trade shows for the aerospace and defense industries with air shows. Matrade has participated in this show since 2014.
In 2021, Malaysian exports of aerospace parts and components totaled RM5.79 billion. The main export markets were France, China and the United Kingdom. — Bernama
